Children of the opioid crisis experience higher rates of trauma. Staff at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital grew concerned about the increasing number of children with suicidal behavior and found a majority coming from a poor community with higher rates of opioid overdoses.

Substance abuse is a known key factor in the epidemiology of trauma. Addiction/substance abuse is a key factor in suicides. This study just repeats what is known.
